Walking in Confidence…

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith in confidence in what we hope for and assurance for what we do not see.
As the daughter of a man who went completely blind during my teenage years, I struggled a lot with asking God, why? To say my dad handled the whole situation with Grace would be a massive understatement. He kept his faith and sense of humor through it all.
One thing that was hard for him was when we went places he didn’t know. He had to rely on my mom, my brother, or myself to guide him through every step. We had to make sure he didn’t step on something that could hurt him or someone else. Do you know how hard it is to let go and let God guide us through the unknown? My dad struggled with wanting to know everything that was coming before we got to it. Don’t we do that with God? I will go… as long as you tell me what’s coming. That is not true faith. It took him a while but eventually he came to trust that we would not guide him anywhere that wasn’t good for him or where he needed to be. Same goes for the Lord.
God wants us to trust that he is guiding us to where we need to be. It will not be easy to just be led along, not knowing what is coming. But if you have faith in the Lord and his plans for you, he will lead you towards your purpose in this life.
