Well Done…

Colossians 3:23-24

Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord.

Have you heard this saying? “Read it slowly and take each request in. I asked for strength, and God gave me difficulties to make me strong. I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve. I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome. I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help. My prayers were answered!”

This is how so many of our “unanswered” prayers are actually answered. We are looking for it delivered in a little pretty box with a bow and no work involved. God created us in His image. Do you remember what Jesus went through? And He Is God’s Son and perfect. Do you think that we deserve not to go through what He went through, to get where he got to? You will go through so many trials to teach you what you prayed for, if it is possible & God's will for your life. Most of the time, just to prepare you, it will take work after the prayer.

When I was little, I was always taught, do it right the first time and you won’t have to do it again. Coming from the south that means my momma would look at me and say, “I think you need to lick that calf over again.” That means you better turn around and try that job again before you go sit down. If you are able to go back and fix it. Read that again, IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GO BACK. A lot of times we don’t get that second chance to go back and correct our mistakes, so it's important to do things with purpose. and gain the knowledge you need to complete them, the first time around.

Do you know how many times the Lord probably says that to me? Umm sis, try that one again. He knows that we are trying. We fail him daily. Also though, daily we have the opportunity to correct our behaviors and gain that strength, wisdom, courage and love. Use that daily opportunity wisely. Are you using every day to praise the Lord and bring light into this world of darkness that is around us. The devil walks around freely taking over every aspect of people's lives and they don’t even realize it.

Do it right the first chance you get. While you are able, because The Lord is the only one who knows when your chance will be up. Go about your days as if it’s your last opportunity to do everything you can for the Lord. That you are showing him the lengths that you will go to to walk those streets of gold and hear, well done my good and faithful servant.
