Blog (Introductory) Post
By: Kelley Ann Hinson
Our blog will consist of weekly devotionals of different subjects and meanings. I have come to realize that there is no organization to my inspiration to write on any given day. Some days I will get up and go straight to my computer, and other days I will wake up at 11 p.m. with a message that will not wait till in the morning (like tonight…at 11:07 p.m.). I haven’t been to sleep yet, so it doesn’t count:) God does not keep a time schedule and I write what hits my heart when it hits. Sometimes that entails writing keywords down on a piece of scrap anything I can find until I can get home to my computer. Is it practical…no. Is it convenient…not a chance, but it’s how it happens with me and I ask no questions, I just obey.
It wasn’t always like this. I strained and fought against the force of God’s Will for many years now. In fact The Ragged Wildflower idea? That was at least 4 if not 5 years ago when that Idea came about sitting at my kitchen counter with my bestie , sister in Christ, and joint partner , as she was picking my heart up off the floor. God gave us a mission that day. I remember us saying before our 5 hour conversation ended that night, “It will happen when God says it’s time.”, and it’s time. God took a load of disorganized ideas over the last few years and started bringing it into focus a little bit at a time. Piece by piece, like a jigsaw puzzle we started seeing it taking shape. We had a few notebooks, many sticky notes, new adventures, and fall on our faces, until we both came to the realization that we needed to wait on God…so, we did. This is our next big adventure, and I am so excited to see what God has planned next.
